Custom & Bespoke Furniture Disassembly in DC, MD, and Northern VA

Custom Furniture Disassembly

Custom and bespoke pieces don't come with manuals, and they don't come with replacements. A cabinetmaker spent weeks on it - your mover has 30 seconds to decide where the joints are. Our crew approaches custom furniture the same way the maker did: slowly, with the right tools, and with respect for what makes the piece valuable. We've disassembled gallery-piece tables, built-in cabinetry, designer beds, and one-off wall units.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My furniture was built by a local craftsman - can you still disassemble it?

Yes. Custom and one-off pieces are a specialty. We assess the joinery before doing anything and can contact the maker if guidance is needed.

  • How do you protect a custom finish during disassembly?

We use padded blanket wraps, custom-cut foam for corners, and breathable coverings - never plastic directly on a lacquer or wax finish.

  • Do you photograph the piece before disassembly?

Always. Every joint, screw location, and finish detail is photographed so reassembly is exact.

  • Can you reassemble the piece at the new location?

Yes, reassembly is included and we use our disassembly photos to restore it precisely.

  • What if the piece is too valuable to risk disassembly?

We'll tell you honestly. Some antique and custom pieces are better moved whole with specialist padding rather than disassembled. We'll give you that assessment before any work begins.

  • Are you insured for high-value custom furniture?

Yes. Discuss appraised value with us before the job so we can ensure appropriate coverage is in place.
